Crystal meth abuse withdrawal refers to a period in time whereby the drug user tries to stay off the drug or stops using the drug for a given period. This forces the body to react in a number of ways because the body is already dependent on the drug. As a result, an individual partaking in pleasurable activities cannot experience the pleasure since their pleasure receptors have been severely impaired. There is numerous withdrawal effects associated with crystal meth abuse. For starters, an individual will develop lengthy periods of sleep deprivation. Two scenarios may arise as a result of the withdrawal stage. The first scenario is that the addict may feel too overwhelmed by withdrawal effects. Consequently, the addict continues using the drug to escape these effects. The second scenario that can arise from the withdrawal period is that the patient will continue to tolerate the withdrawal effects. Now, it is important for the patient to embark on an addiction recovery program so he or she can eventually overcome the habit.
